August has been a rough month!

August has been a rough month for our family.  We have had NO progress on Libby’s Case.  I am so sad, I can bearly think about it.  August has also been a terrible month in Guatemala.  The current President and his wife are against adoptions.  You can tell by the process.  Last year 96% of the case going thru their courts were approved without any problems.  This year 24% are going thru the courts without any problems.  With the upcoming presidential elections there has been an increase in violence and a lot of rough police activity.  Last week they raided a orphanage in Antigua claiming that the children had been stolen or that they had not been given up legally.  The orphanage says they are doing every thing within the realm of the laws.  They cannot prove it since the police took all their records.  Armed police are watching over the little children ranging in age from 3 months to 3 years old not allowing formula or medicine to be delivered to the orphanage.  This is so sad, and it is all because of politics, the children are the ones who are suffering, if The current President really cared he would realize the impact this is having on the children in the orphanage.

Today I had word from some families that are visiting their children that their Motel was on a lock down, which means you cannot take your child outside of the hotel room.  How scary this is, it just seems to be getting worse.  Some of the foster parents are quiting because of threat to their families.  They are keeping their foster children in hiding.

Libby, is not in a orphanage, she is in a loving Foster Home,  Please pray that her Foster Mom continues to take care

of her and that they are both safe from harms way.  We love her very much.

Thank you for praying for our family.

Flash Back………

As I was driving in the car today,  I had a flash back.  I was about 5 and my Daddy was driving the car.  It was snowy and the roads were slick and  covered with ice.  I didn’t have a care in the world, I was singing. You see my Daddy was driving and I always trusted Dad to get us home safely.

It made me realize something.  I don’t know what is coming next, on our journey to bring Libby home.  What I do know is who is driving our “Car” through this process!  I trust our heavenly father to take us to  our destination safely and in his time.

This Morning

This morning in Guatemala a mother cries

She will never forget her daughter’s eyes

Her heart is broken and filled with pain

The tears run down like the falling rain.

She has no choice but to leave her there

The cost of keeping is too much to bear

She hopes her daughter will one day know

True love can be found in letting her go

This morning in Guatemala a baby cries

Hungry and scared as tears fill her eyes

Her mother has left her in  this public place

Another lost daughter of the Guatemalan race.

Someone passing has heard her soft moan

She is soon quickly taken to a foster home

It is here she will reside in the care of another

Until she is adopted by a brand new mother.

That very same moment, in the USA

A woman cries as she starts to pray

her heart is heavy but filled with much love

She prays for a daughter she thinks the world of.

“Dear Jesus, I ask that your arms would be

Wrapped together  around the one picked for me

Guard her in Guatemala “till I make my way

And then in my arms forever she will stay.”

I know that Libby is in God’s tender care and soon she will indeed be in my arms!  I am standing on the promises of God!

Thank you all for your prayers, Love and support!  Keep on Praying!!!!
